Meet the Intern: Zipporah. K.

Simple intelligent girls win, am I right? Hi y’all! I’m Zipporah Kuteesa (Zee), a dedicated reader and writer who reads more than she writes but believes of late the opposite is true especially since she published her first book. Finally, right? I excel at so many things so I have difficulty choosing what I should drop so I instead create a timeframe for each activity. I have a First Class degree in Mass Communication and Journalism with a major in Communications. I took on this degree with the intention of becoming a voice to the voiceless through action and my writing.

Besides writing stories and blogs that put bullies to shame, I also actively participate in charity work as a Projects Manager, fundraising for a charity called Mercy Hands Uganda. A bully hates to see me coming and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

It is one of the reasons I wrote “Happily Single - 13 Keys to Thriving in Your Singleness and Individuality” - to challenge the mindset of bullies who are bullying young women into marriage, ready or not. The controversy is already getting on so many bullies’ nerves and I love it so much. I’m here for the whole experience. To this day, I am still grateful to the English teacher that discovered the writer and editor in me at fourteen-years-old. I have been editing and writing since then. I love good conversation and strongly enjoy giving the unheard a voice through the fiction I write. ‘Everything you tell a writer might or mightn’t be used in a story.’ I don’t make the rules.

I come from a country that doesn’t do much when it comes to writing, reading and publishing. Having searched and searched for the longest for a publisher I could work with, at the point of giving up I found History Through Fiction. I was at the verge of speaking to the anxiety that crowds my mind, paralyzing me with fear to move forward in 2024. I was putting myself out there and that is how I found History Through Fiction. Boy, was I EXCITED! My dream is actually coming to pass. I am eager to learn as much as I can about publishing as I hope to create a publishing company of my own in my home country, maybe I will become what I have been looking for all this while after this experience. I will provide to others what I have searched for for years.

I spend more time indoors than I do outdoors, writing and reading. The outside world is too loud, I prefer the words creating worlds in my mind. I love good conversation and will fight anyone who tries to bully my friends or the people under my care into feeling small. I do not have a favorite genre of anything because I believe there is a good song, book, movie in every genre. You just have to be keen enough to find it. My tastes range between romance and thrillers.

I’m a devout Christian. I love laughter, joy and easy-going people. I make sure to surround myself with as many of them as I can. I would love to see the snow someday with my real eyes, to feel it with my fingers. I love activities that spike my adrenaline through the roof. The more deathly an activity is, the more I am excited to try it out. I skate, kart for fun, bungee jump…you name it. I have yet to try skydiving. The bigger the truck, the more it has my heart. Same goes for dogs. I like them big, scary and ruthless.
